Some people with physical disabilities may require modifications to their vehicle to allow them to drive safely again. This can include modifications such as hand controls, left foot accelerator and spinner knobs.

Workcom provide Australia-wide physical disability car modification assessments for people who may need vehicle modifications to allow them to drive safely again.

Our Driver Trained Occupational Therapists can assess a person’s need for vehicle modifications, and direct them to accredited vehicle modifiers.

Access is also provided to driving instructors’ modified vehicles, which have a dual brake for the instructor, to allow people to trial particular modifications prior to fitting them in their own vehicle.

Any vehicle modification requires an endorsement on the person’s drivers’ licence, and Workcom can direct the person through the correct channels to achieve this.
